Nintendo has just dropped a new trailer Metroid Dread revealing a whole host of new enemies, and like all good trailers leaves us with far more questions than answers.
The brand new gameplay trailer, sees Samus under attack from a mysterious opponent that appears to be a Chozo.
For those not up with their Metroid lore, The Chozo were (read almost extinct) technologically advanced species who believe it is their purpose to bring peace throughout the galaxy, and more importantly, raised Samus.
Later in the trailer we’re also treated to a glimpse of what appears to be long-time Metroid baddie Kraid in glorious HD.
The video also introduces multiple new and returning abilities and weapons that Samus has at her disposal. These include the Flash Shift, which allows Samus to travel a set distance in an instant, the Grapple Beam, a rope-like beam that lets Samus swing across gaps or manipulate parts of her environment, and the Storm Missile, which lets Samus lock on and fire a barrage of multiple small missiles.
Metroid Dread is out for Switch on 8th October.
