Here’s how to watch Peacemaker in the UK.
YOU CAN’T… Well not easily, anyway.
Your best options (Read: legal) to watch the hilarious new Suicide Squad spin-off Peacemaker in the UK that is currently streaming on HBO Max both require the use of Virtual Private Network service (VPN).
If you want a good deal on a VPN service that will let you stream peacemaker in the UK, just hit up YouTube, chances are someone will probably be shilling a free months sub to one, when they’re not trying to sell you crap headphones or Dimoxinil. It doesn’t matter which provider it is either. They are all much, of a muchness for our purposes anyway.
Now if you don’t know what a VPN is, it’s essentially a handy dandy piece of software that allows you to anonymously browse the internet without those stinking ISPs knowing what you are looking at, or what weird fetish you may be satiating that evening. A fun side effect of using a VPN is that it can also be used to trick websites into thinking you are in another country, say America, and getting around all the geo-blocking bullshit companies like to engage in to keep you away from content because of… capitalism.
Not only can this be used to Watch hundreds of episodes of One Piece on Japanese Netflix, or say access i-Player without a TV license (not that we would ever condone this), or living in the UK, but let us lot in Blighty have access to HBO Max which is currently unavailable in the UK.
Now the next hurdle is getting into the site itself. You have two options here: either have a friend in the US who can lend you their account for an evening, or prepare to jump through a lot of hoops.
HBO Max only lets you sign up if you have a credit or debit card from the US.
However, where there’s a will to watch John Cena do funky dances over the credits, there’s a way.
- Download and open the VPN on your phone/ tablet and connect to a US server
- Make a new Apple ID or Google Play account in your computer browser that’s tied to the US (leave the country blank)
- Register your new account on your phone’s app store.
- Tap ‘skip’ if you are asked to add payment info.
- Download and install the HBO app to your phone.
- Create a new account in the HBO Max app with your email address and password
- Use PayPal for your payment method. This can be you usual UK account.
- You can sign in from any device
- Watch Peacemaker.
If your head hurts just looking at that list of instructions, and I don’t blame you, especially considering it doesn’t always work, and doing this very clearly violates HBO Max terms of service, there is one final option. Well, two really.
Wait until it inevitably ends up on Now TV or Amazon Prime in a few months time.
Or you could use that newfound VPN of yours to set sail to distant shores. There are torrents of ways to find content on the internet if you know where to look. Bays once blockaded can be circumvented with the power of the VPN, if you know what I’m saying, maytee!
