The phenomenal Coheed and Cambria have announced a co-headlining UK and European tour with Thrice in October this year.
Coheed’s upcoming album, Vaxis II: A Window Of The Waking Mind, will be released through Roadrunner Records on 27th June.
The band released their latest single, Comatose, Yesterday.
The new album is the sequel to 2018’s Vaxis – Act I: The Unheavenly Creatures, the second part of a five-chapter arc, Vaxis II follows the journey of a couple on the run from tyrannical forces and their mysterious new addition.
Speaking to Consequence, frontman Claudio Sanchez said the band had taken time out during the pandemic to make sure they worked without limitations.
Sanchez said: “A lot of times, with bands who’ve been around and built a strong fanbase like we have, I think there might be a tendency, intentionally or unintentionally, to try to give the fans what they want and not take too many risks,” he said.
“After making music for so long and entering a pandemic, we didn’t want limitations to the creative process,” he added, teasing the album “is going to be what I hope people perceive this band to be in 2021/2022 – looking forward, not backwards”.
Support will be provided by LA Post-Hardcore act –Touché Amoré.
Ticket pre-sales begin Wednesday, 25th May at 10am. General ticket sales start, Friday 27th May at 10am.
