Influsion Inc. has revealed players won’t have to wait long to get their hands on an early build of its haunting first-person survival horror game, set aboard a derelict cruise ship, Senara: The Sacrament, as a demo of their upcoming nautical nightmare is bound for Steam this February.
Senara: The Sacrament puts players in the role of a new recruit to a religious organization (that’s totally not Scientology) housed aboard a massive 6,000-ton cruise ship: the Senara. After setting sail, our new acolyte wakes to find the crew missing, while unspeakable horrors roam its steel corridors (and not just an aging science fiction writer recording the world’s worst jazz album).
Hidden cult rituals, forbidden truths, and survivors with their own agendas await in the darkness. In the place where blind faith and salvation intertwine, Influsion promises players will “be forced to make choices that go far beyond survival.” In other words, multiple paths through with several different endings depending on how you react to the challenges in the game.
It’s classic survival horror stuff. Limited resources, a smattering of stealth, and never enough bullets, and that nagging feeling you may have missed something, as the story of the Senara slowly unfolds through a mix of dialogue, documents, and clues found in the environment.
Explore the complex, intertwined corridors of this structure based on a real ship, uncover hidden passages, and gather clues to find the key to your escape.
During development, Influsion utilised LiDAR, photogrammetry, and Unity HDRP pipelines to scan a 6,000-ton ocean liner. This enabled the developers to create a lifelike structure for winding corridors and secret passageways found throughout the ship, which they hope will create an ultra-immersive, uncanny playspace for players to get lost in.
“Senara: The Sacrament is our love letter to classic survival horror titles that keep players shrouded in mystery and trapped in suspense,” said No-Jin Kwak, Director at Influsion Inc. “Using claustrophobic corridors, moody offshore atmosphere, limited resources, non-linear level design, and a fragmented story, we aim to create a terrifying experience that shakes players to their very core!”
Senara: The Sacrament’s full release is still TBA, but you can get a taste in February.
